About Canzonia

Who you're actually hiring

We're an Odoo consultancy in Vancouver. Eleven years in Odoo, and seven implementations behind us. We take on full ERP programs, single integrations, and support on a system somebody else built.

The Record

Eleven years deep in Odoo

Canzonia started in 2018. We're an Odoo Partner.

Grocery retail. Food manufacturing. Custom glass tile. A precious-metals dealer whose CRM had stopped working.

Seven implementations have gone live, with around forty projects and enhancements built on top of them.

Four of those are written up with the numbers left in.

The Founder

How the firm started

I'm Mark Robinson. Before starting Canzonia in 2018, I worked in-house as an Odoo developer at two companies, building and running the system their own operations depended on.

That's a different vantage point than consulting. When something breaks, you're the one who fixes it, the next day and the month after. The way I read a business still traces back to those years.

Most of the value in an Odoo project sits in the part nobody sells you: The weeks spent understanding how a business already runs before anything gets configured.

I scope every project and stay on it through go-live, taking the experience and process from the project management challenges from years of running programs end-to end.

How We Staff

Senior on the work, sized to the program

One thing about how we staff a project doesn't change: the founder scopes it and stays on it through go-live.

Our model is the founder plus senior Odoo consultants, brought in per program from developers we've worked with before.

On the larger programs, that has also meant running a development team, not just building.

Cost is scoped and fixed to milestones before work starts.

Continuity

Your system doesn't depend on us

Everything we build ships as Odoo standard addons, committed to your repository from the first week. The documentation describes what is actually running, and your team can be trained to run it, not dependent on us to keep it going.

If you ever want to move to another Odoo partner, they can pick up the system and carry on with it. There's no fork, and no layer of ours sitting between you and Odoo.

On a manufacturing program, the client's own developer took over parts of the build, working from the same documentation and the same standard Odoo we did.

That's the test we build against.

How We Work

Four things we do on every project

We map how you work first

On the grocery rollout we mapped the existing inventory and procurement process before building anything, then rebuilt what already worked instead of replacing it.

We cut over in stages

Stores went live about two business days apart across a two-week window. At the manufacturer, Odoo ran alongside the plant's spreadsheets until the team was ready to retire them.

We hold scope

On two engagements the client's accounting system stayed exactly where it was, deliberately out of scope. Not everything has to move at once.

We prove the data moved

Migrated records get counted against the source, spot-checked, and signed off by you before anyone calls it done.
